Living in wine country, surrounded by discarded oak barrels, sourced from local raw/natural wineries, the sound from the hand chiseling and the quality of the wood became an unparalleled 360 degree wooded canvas story board with endless creative opportunities which have had a huge creative communal reach as both statement art pieces and teaching vessels. I have found myself embarked on a journey since 2020 onward carving every part of the barrel and sharing the experience across many platforms through visual art and as well as having these barrels be a vessel of creative learning through local cultural carving programs. As an artist does, we push boundaries, weave tales, narrate the zeitgeist and transform the underrated into a spectacle.
